Hatred is the ugliest of emotions for it is the root of murder and mother to anger. Hatred's seed is planted in the soil of misunderstanding . As misunderstanding grows it matures into intolerance disallowing understanding a place to grow.
Where there is deep understanding there is tolerance. Tolerance can progress to acceptance, acceptance mature to benevolence ,benevolence produces kindness, and kindness in full bloom completes and finishes as the fruit of love. Therefore understanding is the genesis of love's completion.
Understanding being foundational to seed love's development, what is necessary for it to develop? Patience, listening, observing, humility,and wisdom are the green house nuturers understanding requires to become a seedling. Set it out too quickly without slowly hardening it to the elements and it will perish. No, there can be no quick tricks for raising and propagating the seedling understanding . Place the tender plant to early or in the bad soil of misunderstanding and hatred will spoil everything.
So it reasons ,that if we desire to be a people bereft of hatred and filled with love, we must cultivate understanding with it's key elements: Patience,humility,listening, observing,and wisdom. Wisdom brings all the data into emotional play.Wisdom will tell you what to do with understanding and how to use it.
Colossians 3:8 " You must rid yourselves of all such things as these; anger, rage, malice, slander.....since you have taken off your old self with it's practices and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in the image of it's Creator."
