Miracles are a-foot

I used to look for the glory in the extraordinary or unusual events of my life. But I have come to recognize that God works very much in the common events of everyday life. These are the things that comprise most of our days and that is wherein miracles lie. We step over a dollar to pick up a dime and miss the miracle of a sunrise or a cool misty morning hoping to find something fantastic or magical just over the horizon when heaven is at our feet and miracles are a foot as we sip our morning coffee.

We long for the future to be bright as we miss the present light and illumination that is all around us. We are looking in the wrong place for the kingdom of heaven, for Jesus said ,"The kingdom of heaven is within you....Do not say,'Here it is or there it is' " It always resides within. If we would but take the time and witness the glory, peace and pure delight that can fill us even now we would cease chasing fantasies.God is present in the common hours,this is where he is to be found. He is too present to imagine yet accessible at a whisper.Stop ,look, and listen....there are miracles a foot.
